I have been to Hanoi, Vietnam last June for the first time.  I experienced several things when I stayed in Vietnam.  One of them is that Vietnamese people seemed to have full of self-confidence.  I think that the confidence may be based on the victories in wars against big countries such as the US and China in 1970's.  The next thing I felt in Vietnam is that they are full of vigor (life). This seems to be because the Vietnam economy has shown high growth.  In general, people have tend to have bright hope that their life will improve well under a high growth economy.  The vigor is same as I felt when I visited China in 1990's.  In 1990's China's economy also showed a steady high growth.
