내용 | I have wonder about physical contact. I know that US. and korean greeting culture are different. Do I have to kiss on the cheek or hug when I am going to meet a girlfriend or colleague women in US. If I want to shake hand to women friend or colleague? Is that rude behavior? Of course, I know that I have to hand shake to women colleague at official meeting. In addition I must shake to greet when I meet man friend or colleague. |

첨삭 내용 | Hello! Thank you so much for sending this question...it's great! About the differences between Korean and American culture: You would only give a light kiss on the cheek or a hug IF the woman/girl is a family member (in-laws) or close friend who knows and trusts you. For professional settings, you would always shake hands with both men and women as a general greeting. I hope this helps! Let's continue to discuss American and Korean culture and the expressions/vocabulary that applies to different situations.
Thank you!
