This is my simple opinion when I check your feedback of last class.

When I check the idom, ‘above the law’, which is given by my englinsh teacher, I was really surprised. Because in Korea, we also also have a very similar expression, called ‘sombody is able to keep their life without law. Even if somebody live another country, people seem to live in a similar environment and language.
Anyway, I was really wonder that kind of idom or expression is commonly used in real world in USA?

Julie, you are wise to observe that the experiences of people everywhere are mostly the same.  We just have different ways to describe and express our feelings about our life experiences.  Idioms are a good way for people to comment on things that happen to all of us.  The idioms that I will be sending you are commonly used in the USA, and everyone wiould understand what your feelings are when you use them.  I like the textbook we will be using, because it uses many idioms, and with my help you will be prepared to easily use and understand isioms that other people use.  This will strengthen your communication skills.  So, when I send you idioms, they are alwyas phrases that are commonly used in America.    Have a great weekend, Julie.
