Thank you for your kind comments.
I‘ve read them all.
What I wanted to ask at the end of last class is like this;
If I want to say several phrases about the location and the time,
which one is the prior in the sentence?
For example,
I talked for a couple of hours near my house.
I talked near my house for a couple of hours.
Which one is better?
Are both okay?
I hope you give me a feed-back at the next class. see you! |

What I wanted to ask at the end of last class is like this;
If I want to say several phrases about the location and the time,
which one is the prior in the sentence?
For example,
I talked for a couple of hours near my house. - This sentence brings the conversation into the forefront. There is an emphasis on the interaction and less on the location.
I talked near my house for a couple of hours. - This sentence brings the location into the forefront. It provides a visual of where the conversation occurred while adding the duration as a side detail.
Which one is better?
Are both okay? - Both work well, you just need to decide whether you want to emphasize the length of time or the location more.
I hope you give me a feed-back at the next class. see you! |
